1. This website allows users to register on the Edutekie platform. Registration is mandatory for accessing courses.
2. In order to be contacted about the Company's products and/or services, as well as for the storage and processing of the data entered in the registration, the User's consent is required.

How long your personal data is kept
1. The Company keeps your personal data for as long as it's needed to meet legal requirements.
2. When you contact the Company by registering on this website, your data will be kept indefinitely, allowing any subsequent contacts to be automatically recognized and approved.
3. Your data will be deleted when you exercise your right to have your data deleted under the terms of this privacy policy.
Connection to social networks
We allow connection to social networks, but we are not responsible for their privacy and security policies. Each network has its own Privacy Policy, so we recommend that Users check them. These networks may record information relating to Users' activities on the Internet, including on this website.
Personal Data of Minors
Edutekie is a platform exclusively for children and teenagers. All collected data benefits from enhanced protection under GDPR (Article 8) and Online Minors Protection Regulations. We apply enhanced protection for minors' data under GDPR Article 8 and Portuguese Law 58/2019 (age threshold: 13 years). All accounts use parent/guardian email addresses for communication and require our mandatory signup checkbox.
1. Age Verification Process (GDPR Article 8 compliant):
1.1. Required checkbox: "I confirm: I am the parent/guardian OR the student is 13+ years old."
1.2. Parent/guardian email collected on all registrations (used for all notifications).
1.3. Date of birth field for age confirmation.
2. Unauthorized Data: Contact [email protected] to delete under-13 data without verification.
Right of access, rectification, opposition, and deletion
1. The information collected from the contact forms is stored in the User profile.
The User may, at any time:
1.1. Request access to the information that the Company holds about them: the User has the right to confirm whether or not their data is being processed and, if so, has the right to access it.
1.2. Request the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete information: the User retains the right to have their personal data rectified by the Company.
1.3. Request the deletion of your personal data: You have the right to request that the Company delete your data, without undue delay, in the following cases:
i. When personal data is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or processed;
ii. The User has withdrawn their consent for data processing (when processing is based on consent) and there is no other basis for such processing;

iv. If you have objected to the processing, until it is verified that the legitimate reasons of the controller prevail over those of the data subject.
1.5. Objecting to the processing of personal data

1. The company and Thinkific (our platform) use cookies on the website to ensure functionality, improve navigation, and track educational progress.
2. Cookies are small text files that store generic information on the access device for faster, more efficient use. Thinkific session cookies save lesson progress and login status (max 30 days).
3. All browsers allow Users to accept, refuse, or delete cookies through browser settings. Users can disable cookies partially or totally at any time. Cookie consent banner available (GDPR compliant).
4. Disabling cookies may prevent access to platform features.
